After Gaza - Muslim Diaspora Politics
Whilst the Israelis consolidate their position in Gaza adopting a strategy of systematic genocide enabled by hi-tech, its allies in the American bloc are bracing themselves for the inevitable political fallout in their domestic constituencies. With a general election all but certain to happen in March later this year, the UK is at the forefront of trying to roll out damage control for the vast majority of parliamentary incumbents who not just stood by but actively endorsed a campaign of genocide against the Palestinians. We have been here before however, this is not exactly uncharted territory, once before in the aftermath of the Iraq War there was a mini-political revolt against the mainstream with the Respect Party making significant inroads. However, a combination of political incompetence, infighting and lack of cohesive ideological discipline meant the party flamed out within a decade or so.
The danger remains, that the Gaza moment will create a flash of political anger and mobilization amongst Muslim diasporas in the colonies of American Empire but unless there is a clear cut vision of how to mobilise these energies it too will go the way of the Respect Party. It is here in this moment that the cause of Muslim Diasporas in my estimation is the cause of cypherpunks and anti-war libertarians who have correctly identified that it is the State itself which is the source of much misery and woe. Arguing over political differences within the electoral system means one is still bound by the conventions, logic and decorum of the overall culture of power. Using political platforms to curtail and cutdown the writ of the State which can be done by pursuing a policy of conscientious localism is possible and maybe viable in a parliamentary system.
This may require the creation of a new type of Siyasah.
